KUCHING: Despite facing challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Sarawak was able to remain vigilant in keeping the disease under control, at the same time strengthening its digital economy agenda, said Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Successful BKSS B40 Appeal Applicants Start To Receive Assistance Today, Says EPU

KUCHING (Dec 15): Applicants who have successfully appealed for the Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance (BKSS) for the B40 group have started receiving their cash assistance in their bank account today, said the state Economic Planning Unit (EPU).
According to the state EPU, the state government is paying out RM1,500 in two phases to head of households and a one-off RM500 to single individuals under the B40 assistance package.
“Under the first phase, heads of households will start seeing RM750 being credited into their bank account starting Dec 15,” it said.

Covid-19: Kuching Back To Yellow Zone, No Positive Cases Recorded In Sarawak

KUCHING: After five days as a Covid-19 red zone, Kuching district is now back to yellow zone status today after only 39 locally transmitted cases were recorded in a 14-day period.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) secretariat, which revealed this in a statement today, also disclosed there were no positive cases of Covid-19 recorded in the state for the second consecutive day today.

MIRI: The new Miri City Hall building equipped with smart technology facilities is expected to be completed by the first quarter of next year following delays brought about by the Movement Control Order (MCO), said Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Pan Borneo Highway Project Implementation To Be Improved, Says Fadillah

KUCHING: Ten work packages from Sematan to Miri under the first phase of the Pan Borneo Highway project have reached a completion rate of 52 per cent as of June this year, said Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
