SARATOK: Lebuhraya Borneo Utara (LBU) Sdn Bhd held a safety campaign at the junction to Saratok town on Tuesday.

LBU project manager Suhaili Salleh said the campaign was held in connection with Gawai Dayak and Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

“This road safety campaign is aimed to create awareness among all classes of road users plying the Pan Borneo Highway, especially during this double festive season.

“As everyone knows, incidents of road accidents are always higher than normal during festive seasons when people are rushing back home,” he said.

He said LBU has come up with a traffic management plan and systems to improve safety, adding LBU accords top priority to ensuring the safety of road users during construction.

Suhaili called on motorists to cooperate by exercising extra care, especially when passing sections where works are in progress.

Works on the 64.486km portion of the Pan Borneo Highway, stretching from Sungai Awik in Saratok, Betong Division to the Bintangor junction in Sarikei Division are now in progress.
