Ahli-ahli Suruhanjaya cobbold melawat Sarawak pada Februari 1962.

Members of the Cobbold Commission visited Sarawak in February 1962.

Konsep Malaysia telah diumumkan buat pertama
kalinya oleh YTM Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj
Perdana Menteri Malaya pada Mei 1961.

Pada Februari 1962, satu Suruhanjaya yang diketuai
oleh Lord cobbold telah melawati Sarawak dan
Sabah untuk mendapat reaksi dan sentimen
rakyat kedua-dua buah negeri mengenai rancangan
penubuhan Malaysia.

Suruhanjaya memutuskan bahawa kebanyakan
penduduk di Sabah dan Sarawak bersetuju dengan
penubuhan Negara Malaysia.

The Malaysia concept was first announced by YTM
Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, the Malayan
Prime Minister on May 1961.

In February 1962 a commission headed by Lord
Cobbold visited Sarawak and Sabah to find out the
reaction and sentiments of the people of the two
regions to the Malaysia plan.

The commission concluded that the majority of
people in Sabah and Sarawak were in favour of
forming the nation, Malaysia.
