Financial Aid

Financial Aid for Attendance to Private Pre-schools

The government provides financial aid for low income families to send their children to private preschools registered with the State Education Department. The amount of financial aid given is based on the school’s fee and the family’s income.

For families with a household income of RM300 per month, the maximum aid is RM150. For those earning up to RM400 a month, the maximum aid is RM112.50, while those whose income is not more than RM500 the maximum amount is RM75.

The amount for physically-challenged pupils is different. For those families with a household income of RM300 per month, the maximum aid is RM500, for family income of up to RM400 per month it is RM400, and for family income of up to RM500 per month it is RM300.

To apply for the aid, parents must enroll their child in a preschool that is registered with the State Education Department. They can then apply for the aid through the respective school. The payment is made to the school directly.
