This event is mooted arising from the formation of a new Standing Committee of the Council i.e Culture, Youth & Sports Standing Committee which was established in March 2012.

The main highlight of the event is showcasing of the cultural performances cum traditional dance of the various local ethnic groups in Serian district in particular and Sarawak as a whole.

The Objective of the event are among others :

-          To promote and preserve the traditional culture of the various local ethic groups;

-          To attract domestic and foreign tourists; and

To create a harmonious atmosphere and to instill a sense of co-operation amongst the populace especially youth in particular.
