Replacement for Certificate of Competency as a Competent Electrical Engineer
Competency as Competent Electrical Engineer is a certification that recognizes a person who has been registered with BEM as a Professional Engineer and has sufficient knowledge of modern electrical engineering practices, including the principle of operation of equipment used for generation, transmission, distribution, utilization, protection and metering electrical installations and energy efficiency management. The person must attend and pass the interview by the Board.
Competent Person as Competent Electrical Engineer is allowed to:
- submit plans, drawings and specification without limitation of voltage and current;
- visit & inspect, work, operate or to be in control of any work or operation of an installation required by any owner, management or licensee of the installation for the installation operates at higher than low voltage but not exceeding 132,000 volts.
The application for replacement of the certificate is made when the certificate has been damaged or lost.

- Servce Sarawak at https://sarawak.gov.my
- Certificate of Competency as a Competent Electrical Engineer is valid for more than 6 months.
- The original certificate has been damaged or lost
